Description:
Dodge Journey review and road test by video. From our first look at the Journey, we were a bit lost as to exactly what type of vehicle it was. Obviously, it was a Dodge, that was blatantly obvious from the huge amounts of chrome around te grill, plus the muscular looks synonymous with the American cars in general. However, was it an SUV 4x4? Going off it shape and size, we presumed something in the off roader class, but we was wrong. If fact it is a seven seater MPV or mini van. Tryng to step away from conventional people carriers, dodge have designed something different, successfully, however, for the European market, will it be successful? Not in our opinion. This car will not will any awards for the styling both inside and out. Typical of an American owned motor company, it just doesn\'t like going round corners. Neither the diesel or petrol engines offer anything of note, petrol being slightly quicker, boasting 0 to 60 mph (0 to 100 kph) in a little over 10 seconds, and the diesel offering 12.1 seconds. Inside isn\'t that bad, but lacks the comfort and plushness of the C-Max and other leading cars in this class. However, sound proofing is excellent. No where near as versatile as other motors either, the seats just don\'t do it. There are 6 models currently available (2009) - MPV 2.4 SE 5dr for £16,800, MPV 2.0 CRD SE 5dr at £18,200, MPV 2.4 SXT 5dr costing £18,400, MPV 2.0 CRD SXT 5dr retailing at £19,800, MPV 2.0 CRD R/T 5dr priced at £22,700 and the MPV 2.0 CRD R/T Auto 5dr costing you£22,700. All prices are for new. Video comes courtesy of NewCarNet. We hope you enjoy the video road test and Dodge Journey review.
