Ford Focus ST reviews

Ford Focus ST reviews. 2005 to present (2009). If your fortunate enough to have around the 20K mark to blow on a hot hatch, then take a long good look at the Ford Focus ST. There are three ST models available from Ford, the ST, ST2 and the top of the range ST3. The three Focus hot hatch cars are also priced quite reasonably, in line with other motors in the hot-hatch class. We have sampled some of the good and bad from Ford Focus St reviews from around the globe, to bring you an unbiased written summary to accompany the video which came courtesy of Parkers online car guide. The base model available around the £17,500 mark still comes with good selection of equipment including alloy wheels and Recaro seats. The ST2 throws in front xenon headlights, heated windscreen, Fords ESP traction control with stability management and a Sony mp3 compatible stereo, and retails at around £18,500. The ST3 comes complete with all the afore mentioned plus full leather interior, electronically controlled seat adjustment and a six CD interchanger and is priced just short of £20,000. AutoTrader reckon this is the best all round hot hatch available on the market today. The cabin is roomy, the boot is spacious. The 2.5 litre petrol delivers 225 bhp. Flat out you will get from 0 to 60 in under 6.8 seconds. Top speed is around the 150 mph mark. The Ford Focus ST also scored 5 stars on the Euro EnCap safety test. You can find used Focus ST cars for sale. They are also available as new car sales. It is also available on short term car hire and longer term contract lease or PCP. Enjoy the video of the Ford Focus ST review.

Volvo s40 reviews

Volvo s40 review, 2004 to 2009. The S40's front seats are very comfortable, with plenty of shoulder and thigh support, and there’s a wide range of adjustment for the steering wheel. Except for the tacky display, the centre console looks pretty good. It could do with coming in some more funky colours though to accommodate modern life. However, on another downside the controls are small and fiddly and the information display could be clearer and as we say, available in a multitude of groovy colours that would give s40 a bit more vibe and street cred.
As you would expect from Volvo, you get a very high standard of safety and every S40 is come keenly equipped. Entry-level S models come with many things that are usually extra on most everyday cars such as electronic climate control, front and rear electric windows, remote central locking and 16-inch alloy wheels. Sport models add larger alloys and sportier trim and suspension, while extras on SE and SE Sport models include leather upholstery, an upgraded stereo system, automatic wipers and an electrically adjustable driver's seat with memory. Engines come in both diesel and petrol. We prefer the T5, which is a 220bhp 2.5 litre turbo charged animal. Volvo s4 new cars sales are available through all the authorised dealerships up and down the country. You should also be able to find plenty of used Volvo s40 cars for sale. It is also available on short term car hire and longer term contract lease or PCP: Perfect for motorway driving.

VW Touran reviews

VW Touran review. 2003 to 2008/9. MPV or people carrier. Dashboard layout is easy to navigate around. Very conservative and sensible. A good driving position can always be found due to the dual movement wheel and height and reach adjustment on the seat. Very bland in our opinion in the actual cockpit. 39, yes that is 39 separate storage units in the cockpit. Don't forget where you left your phone! For an MPV the Volkswagen Touran has a small windscreen, and like on other people carriers the forward visibility is quite poor due to corner lights and heavy windscreen pillars. The rear seats can fit two adults, but we wouldn't recommend long journeys. The boot space also gets compromised. Other than that, there is ample leg, head and shoulder room. The whole range comes with generous amounts of kit. ALL models have CD player, remote central locking and air conditioning. Alloy wheels are also standard. There is also electric windows and mirrors. SE models add cruise control and electric rear windows, whilst the top of the range Sport includes climate control. The Volkswagen Touran give you a choice of petrol or diesel engines. If your going for the petrol we advise to pick out the 1.4 litre that is turbo charged and also super charged. There are a range of diesels from 1.9l and 2.0l. Six speed gearbox is standard across the range, whilst the higher end models can have the option og Volkswagens semi automatic DSG gearbox. This vehicle is available to buy on both the new and used car market. It is also a popular choice with short term car hire and longer term contract lease or PCP.

VW Polo review. 2002 to present. Not nearly as good as its big sister whne it comes to finding a good driving position. The wheel adjusts just fine, but the seat lack proper movement. You can easily fit four grown adults in a Polo. Volkswagen have made sure there is ample head, leg and shoulder room. The boot is also adequate, and you should fit a Saturday shop in there. Volkswagen have skimped on equipment, more than likely to keep the car competitively priced. If it is mod cons you seek, then you need the top of the range 'S'. Sport models also have lowered suspension and fog lights. There are plenty of VW Polo cars for sale used. You should also angle for large discounts on new cars sales due to current global credit problems. New cars just aren't selling. You will also find the VW Polo available on short term car hire and longer term contract lease or PCP.

VW Golf review. Video of the Volkswagen best seller, model range 2004 to 2008 (not the new one). Quite possibly the most user friendly you will find in any car, in any class. Big and easy to find stereo button, with perfectly proportioned heater dials complimented with minor perfectly positioned minor controls. Small, medium, large or extra large drivers can always find the perfect driving position not only for reach on the wheel and pedals but also for comfort. Masses of head, leg and shoulder in both the front seats and the back seat can easily accommodate two large adults or three children. The only downside inside the cabin of the VW Golf is that the rear seats do not fold completely flat as the base of the seat is fixed. A massive 350 litres of space in the well shaped boot. Definitely the class leader on the inside. Since the arrival of the Golf MKVI, there is now only limited engines to choose from. There are 3 1.4l, two of which are turbo charged and an excellent 1.9l. Angle for huge discounts becuase of the arrival of the new model. You can find the Volkwagen Golf for sale both new and used and you will also find this a popular choice for short temr car hire and longer term contract lease or PCP.

Vauxhall Zafira reviews

Vauxhall Zafira review. 2005 onwards. Based on the Astra, the Zafira from Vauxhall is a seven seater people carrier. Drivers seat and in the cabin is quite comfortable, however, getting is a good driving position is not as good as other vehicles in this class. Dashboard has a good layout, bar the stereo which is confusing and very fiddly. Visibility is also laxking. The quarterlights means seeing into corners is quite tricky. Elevated driving position is always good on MPV or people carriers. The front five seats offer plenty of space, even for larger adults. However, the back seats, seats number six and seven leave alot to be desired. A tight squeeze even for the smallest children. Otherwise, load space is pretty good. The rear seat do titl and slide, but they are split seats, so its all or nothing. Equipments levels are good. All Zafira models come with air conditioning, a CD player and electric front windows. Remote central locking is also standard kit. Other lower end versions, like the Expression, Life and Exclusiv don't seem to come with much more than the standard model. The Design adds alloy wheels, electric rear windows and rain sensing windscreen wipers. The top of the range Elite adds leather upholstery, an MP3 socket, cruise and climate control, whilst the SRi adds sporty touches. This car is available for sale both new and used and is available on short term car hire, and longer term contract lease or PCP.

Vauxhall Corsa review. The Corsa was the replacment for the Vauxhall Nova which was a favourite with boy racers. Vauxhall offer great rear visibility with this car. If you tall, then don't bother with this one, the drivers positioning is not for you. Height adjustment on the steering wheel is an added option and doesn't come with the standard models. Stereo controls are small and fiddly. Compared to its rivals, who seem to have made as much as possible available spece wise on the interior, the Vauxhall Corsa now seems small and cramped. Entry levels are very poorly equipped. Even the higher4 priced Corsa models seem to lack on the extras many of the rival in this class offer as standard. There are diesel and petrol engines available. The smaller engines seem to strain on motorway cruising. Avoid the semi automatic transmission offered on some models. There are far superior cars in this class. Vauxhall need to go back to the drawing board to try and repeat the success they had with the Nova. This car is available in both new and used car sales, is also available on short term car hire and longer term contract lease or PCP. There are 36 different specification available ranging from the entry level Expression at a tad over £7,000 through to the top of the range VXR at a little over £15,000.

Vauxhall Astra reviews

Vauxhall Astra review. All Astra models come with an excellent drivers position. This is due to the two way movement of the drivers seat and steering wheel. Plenty of headroom for all four passengers too. Boot space is compromised by the very large rear lights, sadly lacking against other cars in this class. Visibilty is good in the five door models, although not that great in the three hatches and sport hatch. Stereo and heating is very fiddling with lots of small switches and buttons making use a bit of a pain. All of the cars from Vauxhall come with CD player (except on the Base), electric front windows and remote central licking. Upgrade to the club and then add alloy wheels, air conditioning and electric wing mirrors. Design throws in leather trim and electric rear windows. The Elite comes with both cruise and climate control. SXi come with lowered sports suspension. Sadly SXi\'s do not live up to the class that was found in the MKI and MKII GTE models from yesteryear. There are almost 60 different specifications available, prices ranging from £11500 up to £19575 for the VXR. The petrol engines are okay, if you are considering buying an Astra the opt for the 1.6l rather than the 1.4 petrol. There are also a few turbo charged diesels to pick from. Angle for massive discounts on new car sales. New cars are just selling at the moment. Vauxhall Astra should hold its value quite well, but at this time we are beholden to the credit crunch. This is a popular car for short term car hire and also longer term contract lease. Video courtesy of Parkers car guide.

Toyota Yaris reviews

Toyota Yaris review. New car sales. There are 24 engine and interior specifications to choose from with prices starting at £8900 for the entry level T2 1.0 VVT-i, through to the top of the range SR Dual 1.8l VVT-i 5 door priced at £13960. Angle for discounts on all new models due to the current market. All models are nippy around town, have sliding rear seats and are very economical and cheap to run. Yaris dashboard have a funky, cool fell and layout, typically aiming themselves at female drivers. Steering wheel adjusts for height but not reach. Toyota have tried to take a leaf out of the Mini One book and have centrally mounted all the dials and information instruments, which can be bit annoying when you are trying to keep an eye on your speed or fuel level. Heater controls are very low on the central console, so expect lots of twiddling at the traffic lights in the winter. Space wise, this is one of the shortest wheel base cars in this class. However you will find decent enough headroom and with the split sliding rear seats, good space for shopping trips. Rear seats do slide backwards to give more leg room, but this is at cost to the boot space. Remote locking, CD player and electric windows are standard on every model. You do have to upgrade for more features though. Toyota Yaris are on the market as used cars too. Expect them to be cheaply priced in the current marketplace. You can also hire this car short term or on longer term contract lease or PCP. Video courtesy of Parkers Car Guide.

Toyota Corolla reviews

Toyota Corolla review. 2004 to 2009 model. In the cabin there is a decent instrument layout, very easy to find what you are looking for almost as soon as you get in. The drivers position is good, giving plenty of space, even for the larger driver. Seat adjusts for height and backrest, while the steering wheel adjust for two ways making finding a comfortable position quick and easy. Visibility in the Corolla is also pretty good even with the thick windscreen pillars that give good protection and high safety levels in case the worst does happen. Toyota have kept up with their reputation of offering a high level of equipment and features even on basic and entry level models. The Corolla boasts a CD player, electric front windows and wing mirrors, remote central locking and even side airbags. While less roomy than the Civic, there is still plenty of room for the weekly shop, matching up to other cars in the same class. Split fold rear seats add to the amount of space available. There is also very head room and ample leg room. You have the choice of two two petrol engines, a 1.4 litre and a pleasantly surprising 1.6l. There are also two D-4D turbo diesels, one with 89BHP which isn't quick, however it is clean in its pull. The Sport comes fitted with the Toyota Celica's 189 bhp 6 speed manual gearbox which does deliver, if you really scream the revs. Handling is clean and tidy. Stability is offered well on motorway trips and cornering is poised and balanced. Diesels are really quiet. Things do get a bit noisy in the petrol engine Corollas especially at M-way cruising speed. You can new or used Toyota Corolla examples for sale, and at the moment it is a buyers market, so angle for large discounts. It is also widely available on short term car hire and longer term contract lease or PCP. Video courtesy of Parkers car guide.

Strange and creepy from Volkswagen for their new VW SpaceFox people carrier. Clever use or computer generated animation to combine a dog with a fish. cracking sound track though. You actually don't realise its a car TV advertisement until the end. Das Auto.

Suzuki Swift reviews. 2005 to present models. Seven different engine specification available. There are four 1.3 litre petrol engines, two 1.5 litre petrols and one diesel. Top of the range is the 1.6 Sport which produces 125 bhp. A real girlie car! This is GLX spec with added traction control, climate control and an MP3 enabled stereo. Expect decent discounts on this car. As for cars , you can buy this new and used and it is also available to hire short term or longer term contract hire or PCP. New sales expect to pay between £8,000 and £13,200 depending on which specification you opt for. We wouldn't say this is a hot hatch, more of a luke warm hatchback.

Skoda Octavia reviews. Model date range 2004 onwards. On the road prices between £11,500 and £21,700. This is a well built car, very robust in its design. It has masses of space on the inside too. Good handling and very compliant when on the road. Skoda have produced a very good, unassuming car with the Octavia. It comes with the choice of petrol or diesel engines. The TDi is a bit punchy with a power delivery that seems to quick. There are almost 70 different specifications available combining different engine sizes with differing interior layouts. A facelift is due in January 2009 and you can expect good discounts on all new car sales. Skoda are currently advertising VAT free sales on all Octavias. Deprecation is roughly 50% on a three year old car. You can buy this car both new and used. It is also available on short term car hire and longer term contract lease or PCP.

Skoda Fabia review

Skoda Fabia reviews. Model range from 2007 onwards. Super mini class, also a hatchback. A functional car aiming for the market once practically owned by VW. Petrol engines include a 1.2l, 1.4l and 1.6l. Diesels come in 1.4 litre and 1.9 litre. All new cars come with a three year warranty. The 1.2 produces 60 bhp on three vavles and 69 bhp with 12. Top spec is the 1.9l turbo diesel which produces 105 bhp. Inside the cockpit the dash sturdy and robust but still a bit bland with hardly any changes since the vehicles launch. This auto has bags of room, is very comfortable and seems very easy to drive, however the interior is very basic and also lacks any driver involvement when on the open road. Some of the engines also seem uneconomical. This car is for sale both new and used. Expect to pay in the region of eight to thirteen and half grand for new models, however with the current climate, large discounts may be available. You can also hire this car, short term or on a longer term contract lease or PCP.

Seat Ibiza reviewed. 2002 - 2008 models. Super mini with more than just a dash of Spanish style. Surprisingly affordable. Plenty of choice when it comes to trims and engines. There is also a fiery hot hatch FR. Six speed manual. Better equipped Ibiza have a trip computer. The FR has a 1.8 litre turbo. It also comes in a 1.9 litre turbo diesel. You can find this car for sale both new and used. It is also available on short term car hire and long term contract lease or PCP. Video courtesy of Parkers.

Saab 9-3 reviewed. A really good alternatively to BMW with an excellent safety record. Comes with alloy wheels, aircon and six airbags as standards. Available on short term car hire and long term contract lease. Only the basic car comes WITHOUT a turbo. Quick in a straight line and keeps up with its rivals. Diesels are a great buy, compared with some of the badged executive motors available at a lot more money. It is an ageing car, and there will be a update soon.
